PRESS RELEASE From 3GSM World Congress: Barcelona, February 12th, 2007 – Building on its heritage of delivering inspirational design with powerful functionality, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leading provider of mobile phones and telecom systems, today unveiled new premium additions to its highly popular Ultra Edition range of phones – F700, F520, F510, F500 and F300. Featuring unrivaled design, these latest handsets have been created to bring a superior range of multimedia experiences to consumers.

“The new Ultra range is set to become the ultimate standard-bearer for Samsung’s mobile products by combining form, function and fun,” said Geesung Choi, President of Samsung’s Telecommunication Network Business. “These multimedia driven handsets are designed for consumers who wish to stand out from the crowd, showcasing unrivaled performance, advanced functionality and world-class design.” The Samsung F700 aspires to be the easiest to use multimedia handset on the market with tender touch keypad and a surplus of multimedia functionality, including a 5 megapixel camera and up to 7.2 Mbps High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA).

These days it’s all about content on the go. Music, news, TV, you name it. Samsung has been working hard on an update to their Ultra Video F500 so that you can get the best in mobile TV. Their new F510 has quite a few new features over their old F500. One of the biggest new features is it’s ability to play DivX files. This will make it the first phone to have such capabilities. You can also swivel the phone around so that it can stand freely, allowing you to watch your video without holding on to it.

I’m on the road a lot, and I can view some media content on my phone, but I just can’t get myself excited about watching media on such a small screen. Although, with a 2.4″ screen, the Samsung F510 might be worth looking at
